Flat white with silky microfoam and oat milk pitcher

Barista Oat Milk (That Actually Froths)

5 minutes · Makes ~1 litre · Cold program

The recipe for coffee lovers. Most homemade plant milks split or refuse to froth in coffee — because industrial versions rely on emulsifiers and oils to fake it. This blend gets you real microfoam with real ingredients: the natural fat and protein in cashews.

Ingredients

  • 70 g rolled oats
  • 20 g cashews
  • 1 tbsp coconut cream
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 litre cold water

Method

  1. Add everything to your Lattveo One and run the cold program.
  2. Chill fully before frothing — cold milk steams and stretches far better.
  3. Steam, froth or pour over espresso.

The Lattveo tip

For flat whites, aim for the milk to be fridge-cold and your steam wand tip just under the surface for the first 3 seconds. The cashew fat does the rest — silky microfoam, no gellan gum required.
